READ WITH ME
Reading with your child is more than just story time. It’s a way to connect, share language, and build a love of learning. When families read and learn together, children grow strong in both their minds and hearts. These moments strengthen relationships, support language development, and help children see themselves and their culture in the stories they hear. Every story shared is a step toward helping your child dream, learn, and thrive.

Family Storytime
Listen to stories of creation together. Join Tim Fox as he shares the story of Napi and the Dogs.
Asking questions is a great way to get your child involved in story time. Here are some questions you can ask them after watching Napi and the Dogs.
-
How many dogs did you see in the story?
-
Who was your favorite animal in the story?
-
What did you like the most?

Tips for reading with your child

HAVE FUN
Children learn they are having fun. Use funny voices, use sound effects. These are all great ways to keep children interested and learning.

LET CHILDREN HELP
Let your child hold the book and flip the pages. It's okay if they missed a page or skip ahead, it’s all about spending time together.

ASK QUESTIONS
Children love questions, asking questions about what they see, hear and feel while reading the book helps make reading fun . Ask them what’s happening? Who is their favorite character? How many blue things can they find on the page?

READ IT AGAIN AND AGAIN
Go ahead and read your child’s favorite book for the 100th time!

PAUSE
Did your child lose interest half way through? That's okay! Put the book away for a while and try again later.
